According to the current legislation, drivers who drive at 0.50 promil alcohol level will be fined 1,228 Turkish lira and their license will be confiscated for 6 months. In the same case, if the vehicle is not yours and you are drunk; 0.21 promil alcohol is enough for you to be penalized. In other words, the vehicle does not belong to you and if you are drunk with more than 0.21 promil, you will receive the same penalty. At the same time, if you are caught drinking alcohol twice within 5 years, the fine is higher. The driver, who is caught for alcohol twice in 5 years in total, receives a penalty of 1,539 TL. And at the same time, his license is confiscated for 2 years. Of course, if you are found to have drunk driving 3 or more times within 5 years, a penalty of 2,473 TL will be imposed and your license will be confiscated for 5 years.
