How Do Deadlines Work in Law?
The deadlines may be stipulated in the papers sent to you by the court or the enforcement agency to take actions such as paying, appealing, responding, filing a lawsuit within a certain period of time. In the same way, a right reduction or statute of limitations may be provided for the use of a right. These periods are prescribed in the form of days, weeks, months, years, such as 5-7-10-30 days, 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 years. So how will the periods be calculated in these cases.
In “civil cases”, the periods begin to operate from the date of notification to the parties or, in cases provided for in the law, from the date of exegesis.
If the periods are set as days, the day of notification or notification is not taken into account and the period ends at the holiday time of the last day.
If the period is determined as a week, month or year, it ends on the holiday time of the corresponding day in the last week, month or year on the day it began. If there is no day in the month when the period ends corresponding to the day it began, the period ends on the last day of this month at the time of the holiday.
Public holidays are included in the period If the time period is specified as a working day, public holidays are not taken into account. If the last day of the period coincides with a public holiday, the period ends at the end of the working hour on the first working day after the holiday.”
